Fatemeh Salehian Kia (November 2021 – December 2023) | LinkedIn
She has collaborated with a diverse range of researchers in different institutes. She is currently a research affiliate at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, the University of South Australia, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has been involved in designing and analyzing dashboard users (MyLA) and analyzing usage data of personalized messages (OnTask). Her research focus is on operationalizing learners’ behaviours in online learning environments.

 

El Moatez Nagoudi (December 2019 – October 2024) | Website
Ph.D. in Computing, Amar Telidji University of Laghouat, Algeria, in collaboration with Grenoble Informatics Laboratory, France.
His current research focuses on machine learning and deep learning and their applications in Natural Language Processing. Before UBC, Moatez was an Assistant Professor at CHL University, Algeria. He was also a Member of the Computer Science and Mathematics Laboratory (LIM), Algeria.

 

AbdelRahim Elmadany (October 2019 – August 2024)
AbdelRahim Elmadany is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Deep Learning & Natural Language Processing (DLNLP) Group at UBC. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cairo University, Egypt. His research interests include Natural Language Understanding, Machine Translation, Language Generation, Automatic Speech Recognition, and Computational Social Science and Language Modeling. His current work focuses on Arabic and Indigenous languages. In addition, he has a teaching experience from the Jazan University (KSA), several publications on top-tier conferences and working experience at top research companies.

 

Chang Lu (Aug 2018 – May 2021)
Ph.D. in Strategic Management and Organization at the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta
Theoretically, he focuses on the processes by which actors instigate change in highly institutionalized contexts. His research currently examines the adoption of Blockchain technology in the healthcare sector, by which he aims to conceptualize the relationship between culture and power at both the organizational and field-level throughout the adoption of new practices.
