About

After many years illustrating children’s books and materials and teaching illustration I completed the Masters Degree in Children’s Literature at UBC. Then having caught a scholarly bug I pursued a doctorate. The best part of this academic work has been the opportunity it gave me to teach teachers and librarians because it has introduced me to so many inspiring people and allowed me the privilege of engaging in wonderful conversations about my passion, children’s and YA literature. Mind you, I love many narrative forms and I read widely.

Truly I love the conversations that are vital to courses in children’s literature, particularly those about illustrated forms such as picturebooks and graphic novels.
