On Friday August 18, 2023, Sandy Abah, the iSchool Program Assistant, unexpectedly passed away. She was buried at Schara Tzedeck Cemetery in New Westminster on Sunday August 20, with several iSchool staff and faculty attending.
Sandy was a warm individual, who connected to people easily and made a lot of personal connections in the iSchool community. She had a passion for music and books, and loved to travel and go to concerts. She was a life-long learner and inquisitive about a great deal of things. Sandy worked at UBC almost twenty-five years and in the School of Information since 2019; she was devoted to our students, who remember her as a caring individual with great dedication and passion for her work.
Sandy will be deeply missed in the School.
