The iSchool is currently looking for two full-time lecturers, expected to begin July 1, 2018.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D., or have successfully defended prior to the start date of appointment, and should provide strong evidence of teaching. Lecturer positions are non-tenure track positions with a probationary first year. One of the positions is available as a three-year term, the other position can be filled for a term of up to three years.
Individuals with an interested in one or more of the following areas are invited to apply:
- Digital technologies, including databases and computing, digital preservation, information systems, and digital libraries and collections
- Librarianship, including public libraries, academic libraries, management of information organizations, and library services
A full-time Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts is responsible for the equivalent of 24 teaching credits (i.e., eight 3-credit courses) and service assignments. Additional service responsibilities may include curriculum development, student advising, and community outreach.
The iSchool offers a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS), Master of Archival Studies (MAS), a joint MAS/MLIS, a multidisciplinary Master of Arts in Children’s Literature (MACL), and a doctorate in library, archival and information studies leading to the awarding of a Ph.D. The School also offers courses at the undergraduate level in the Bachelor of Media Studies Program.
