The ALA@UBC Student Chapter has announced several positions currently open for nominations, including two co-chair positions, secretary, treasurer, and webmaster. Currently, there are no nominees for the webmaster or secretary positions. If you’d like to gain experience in either social media management or secretarial work these could be a perfect fit for you.
Any of the available roles would serve as a great addition to your current curriculum vitae, give you the opportunity to be involved in student life and provide you with a deeper knowledge of the offerings and opportunities presented through the American Library Association.
Nominations need to be in by Friday, September 18. If you are interested please send your name, a brief personal statement, and the position (or positions) you would like to run for to ala.slais.ubc@gmail.com by then. You may give your personal statement during the election meeting or – if you are unable to attend – your statement will be read by a volunteer.
The ALA student chapter’s first meeting and general election will be held virtually on Tuesday, September 22 at 4:00 PST. All studets are welcome to join.
