WHY ENGAGEMENT MATTERS
The iSchool@UBC’s 1st Annual Experiential Learning Day will be held on Friday, April 7th, 2017 in the GSS, Thea’s Lounge. Experiential Learning Day is intended to showcase the contributions of iSchool students to the community through their engagement in co-op, internships, professional experience, and practicum placement.
Contributions of UBC iSchool students through their engagement in the experiential learning opportunities offered through both the School and Arts Co-op office have a great impact on both students and our community partners. Recognizing the importance of these placements to the learning experience of our students, our inaugural Experiential Learning Day will focus on how these placements impact students during their program of study, and through our alumni panel highlight the impact these placements have once in the field.
We are pleased to welcome Susan Grossman, Director, UBC Centre for Community Engaged Learning as our keynote speaker. A draft schedule of the event is included below.
All questions related to the iSchool@UBC Experiential Learning Day should be directed to Melissa Nightingale.
