Welcome Dr. Alexander Ross to the UBC School of Information!

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Alexander Ross will be joining the UBC School of Information in January 2025 as an Assistant Professor in Indigenous Information Studies.

Dr. Ross completed his PhD at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information. He is a critical communications scholar, focusing on the political economy of communication, contingent media, and the convergence of media industries on digital platforms. He is Mi’kmaw and a proud member of the Millbrook First Nation.

As an Indigenous scholar, I know I will be well supported at UBC iSchool, and I look forward to helping them expand the First Nations Curriculum Concentration as well as contribute to the iSchool’s research excellence in information studies.”
