We invite you to join us in January 2019! Applications close June 1, 2018 for our degree programs in MLIS and Dual MAS/MLIS. We welcome all students from around the world to apply.

UBC iSchool (Library, Archival and Information Studies) is an internationally ranked, multi-disciplinary school, offering one-of-a-kind graduate programs: Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS), Master of Archival Studies (MAS), Dual MLIS/MAS, an interdisciplinary Master of Children’s Literature (MACL), and PhD. The iSchool also contributes to UBC’s Bachelor of Media Studies undergraduate program. The iSchool is one of the only schools in North America offering a stand-alone archival program, and is ranked first in Canada, and fourth in the world for graduate education in library and information management.

The iSchool is a premiere research institution with international partnerships, competitive funding, at one of the top 20 public universities in the world. Located in the beautiful city of Vancouver, British Columbia, UBC iSchool boasts internationally recognized faculty. Our programs offer many opportunities for students to participate in global practicum, internship, and professional experience courses with practitioners in their chosen field. We also work in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts to offer a robust cooperative education program allowing students to work professionally in their chosen field while obtaining their degree.

Upcoming information Sessions

Each information session will cover information about our programs, course options and career pathways, career outcomes, admissions process, experiential learning opportunities and an overview of the student experience.

  • Webinar  – Wednesday, May 2 from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Open House information session – Thursday, May 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Open House information session – Thursday, July 19 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.


These sessions, hosted by the Educational Services Coordinator, are designed to provide an overview of the degree programs and allow participants the opportunity to ask  questions about the School, specific degree programs, admission requirements, UBC and more.
