Bachelor of Media Studies

The School of Information is one of the seven UBC Arts departments that, along with computer science, participate in the Bachelor of Media Studies (BMS). The BMS is a cohort-based, professional, interdisciplinary, and direct-entry program. BMS students graduate with media theory, research, and application competencies, building the foundation for a rewarding and dynamic career.

The BMS mixes the traditional Arts degree with added hands-on experience, has access to unique course offerings, and has connections to Vancouver’s growing technological and cultural hubs.

The School of Information offers courses in network concepts, social media strategy and analysis, information policy, and information visualization in this dynamic degree program. Undergraduates at UBC, in any program, can take these courses provided they meet the prerequisites.
