About
I am a Ph.D. candidate at the UBC School of Information. My research focuses on the intersection of interactive information retrieval and scholarly communication. My work brings together theory, analytics, and fieldwork to tackle evolving practical and ethical challenges that researchers face in AI-mediated academic environments. At the core, I am passionate about understanding how AI comes into play in researchers’ information practices and workflows, and about designing user-oriented solutions that enhance usability, transparency, and impact in academic contexts. Current projects include (i) exploring researchers’ interactions with AI-integrated research tools, and (ii) investigating the transparency and explainability of these tools.
I hold a B.A. from Nankai University and a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from the University of British Columbia. Every day that I study, work, and live as an uninvited guest on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people reminds me to be grateful for their stewardship of this land since time immemorial.
