About

Dr. Stephenson is a Senior Instructor Emerita at the iSchool where she served from 1987 to her retirement in 2016.  She earned her BA from the University of Texas at Austin and her MLIS and Ph.D in Information Science from The University of North Texas. As a Senior Instructor she focused on service and teaching.  She served as Chair of the MLIS program, MLIS Core Coordinator, Programs Coordinator, Coordinator of WISE Consortium, Coordinator of Research Services and Coordinator of Information Technology.  Her teaching areas included Information Retrieval, Indexing, Database Design, Technology in Society, and Research Methods.  She was awarded the UBC Killam Teaching Prize.
