Cleire Lauron
About
Cleire Lauron is the Metadata & Discovery Librarian at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where she is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and enrichment of metadata representing the library’s physical and digital collections. Cleire is also a sessional faculty at the UFV Department of Information Studies and UBC iSchool. Her areas of interest include RDA (Resource Description and Access), subject analysis, classification, and EDI (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) in metadata. Her most recent project is the implementation of a modified Brian Deer Indigenous Classification to KPU Library’s χʷəχʷéy̓əm Indigenous Collection. Cleire is currently a member of the PCC Task Group for Metadata Related to the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas and the RDA Working Group in Canada. She holds an MLIS from University of Alberta, BA in Psychology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and a Diploma in Library & Information Technology from Langara College.
