Wellness Workshops for UBC iSchool students



 

All UBC iSchool students are invited to join these wellness workshops, facilitated by members of the UBC Wellness Centre, to connect with your iSchool peers and learn more about student social connection, how to manage stress and other wellness resources available for UBC students. Each session is about 20-30 minutes long. Faculty and staff are welcome to attend.

Social Connection Workshop
Tuesday, February 23 – 10:00 a.m.

Social connection is an important part of our well-being and has many benefits to other areas of our life. This 20-minute workshop aims to help participants understand the importance of social connection and how to establish and maintain social connection in their own lives.

 


UBC Wellness Resources Orientation
Tuesday, March 2 – 11:00 a.m.

UBC has many resources to help support the health and wellness of students. Find out what is available and how you can access these resources. By the end of this session:

  • You will understand and name the UBC resources available to you that can support your wellbeing.
  • You will be able to identify how to access a resource to help yourself or a peer.

 


Managing Stress Workshop
Tuesday, March 9 – 11:00 a.m.

This session aims to discuss the origins of the stress response and its implications on health and wellness and provide participants with additional information about stress in ways that support their overall well-being. It is a 20-minute workshop that includes a skill-building activity that encourages participants to explore coping strategies that fit their situation.
