Two UBC iSchool alumni have been recognized for their work in women’s studies librarianship.
Shirley Lew (MLIS ’99) and Baharak Yousefi (MLIS ’07) are the winners of the 2018 Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Women and Gender Studies Section (WGSS) Award for Significant Achievement in Women and Gender Studies Librarianship. The WGSS award honors a significant or one-time contribution to women’s studies librarianship.
Lew and Yousefi co-authored a book, Feminists Among Us: Resistance and Advocacy in Library Leadership, which was published by Library Juice Press in 2017.
