Congratulations to MLIS student Neah Ingram-Monteiro on receiving the Maryan E. Reynolds Scholarship. This scholarship is given by the Washington Library Association. All applicants are evaluated based on demonstrated potential for leadership in the profession and commitment to libraries and library science.
Maryan Reynolds, Washington State Librarian from 1951 to 1975, laid the groundwork for the development of library districts in the state. Under her leadership, the Washington State Library became one of the foremost state libraries in the U.S. After she died in 2004, the WLA scholarship was renamed in her honor.
