UBC iSchool (Library, Archival and Information Studies) is pleased to announce Dr. Fereshteh Didegah, a postdoctoral fellow at Simon Fraser University, as a new lecturer.
Dr. Didegah has a PhD from the University of Wolverhampton (UK), and has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Finland and Denmark before coming to Canada. She previously worked as an adjunct for the iSchool.
Her research interests are in scholarly communications, altmetrics, public interactions with scholarly information, and open science. She has completed several research projects in Europe on open science and responsible research, and she has published extensively in altmetrics and social media. Dr. Didegah is also collaborating in a SSHRC-funded project on understanding the societal impact of research through social media.
“I am thrilled to join the iSchool and to have the opportunity to teach scholarly communications and data management courses and collaborate with the iSchool team on developing curriculums and organizing events,” says Dr. Didegah.
