On behalf of the MACL Program, it is my pleasure to announce that Rachel Balko successfully defended her thesis this afternoon.
Rachel’s thesis is the second MACL “hybrid” thesis, which combines a creative writing component and an academic component. The thesis incorporates Rachel’s YA coming of age novel with an analysis of Judy Blume’s YA novel Forever in relation to Rachel’s novel, and through the critical lens of Germaine Greer’s Female Eunuch.
It is entitled “Every Saturday at Midnight,” a Novel; an Exegesis of “Every Saturday at Midnight,” a Novel.
Rachel’s committee, comprised of Rhea Tregebov (CRWR), Judi Saltman (SLAIS), and Alison Acheson (CRWR) congratulate her on her thesis.
Congratulations, Rachel.
