Join us at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Thursday, November 5, for an OCLC Member Forum, hosted by the Americas Regional Council (ARC). Register today!
Date: 05 November 2015
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pacific Standard Time, North America [UTC -8]
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia
Venue: University of British Columbia
The topic of “Engagement and Cooperation” focuses on two important aspects of our work: how our libraries are responding to the new ways in which our users engage with the library; and how you, as OCLC members, engage with OCLC. We will share examples of the ways in which libraries are addressing these changes in user behavior, and we will invite your suggestions for how OCLC needs to respond.
In addition, you will spend time with leaders from the Americas Regional Council, who will highlight the work they do on your behalf and what you can do to participate in OCLC governance.
The agenda includes:
9:00 Registration
9:30 Welcome
10:00 Keynote and discussion: The library in the life of the user: How users are changing the way we work
12:00 Lunch
1:15 Your Cooperative: What’s new at OCLC
2:30 Reacting to the Present and Influencing the Future: What does the future require of OCLC?
3:30 Adjourn
There are no registration fees, and we’ll provide lunch.
As the meeting gets closer we will send an updated agenda and instructions on parking and room locations. Space is limited, so please register soon. We look forward to seeing you.
