iSchool Alum Cate McNeely named ‘Mover & Shaker’

UBC iSchool Alum Cate McNeely (MLIS ’86) has been named an American Library Association Library Journal Magazine ‘Mover & Shaker’ for 2002.

Cate is recognized for her focus on the customer – and library users are customers. She likes the connotation of accountability–that the library works for them. Her support for innovative technology-based approaches to user services and program development are at the core of the Richmond Library’s Ironwood branch (dubbed the “Library of the Future”). It is also at the forefront of entrepreneurial service, thanks in great part to McNeely.

Cate currently works as the Deputy Chief Librarian, Richmond Public Library, and as an Adjunct Professor at UBC iSchool.

Congratulations, Cate! Visit the ALA Library Journal website to read more about how McNeely is improving customer service.
