UBC iSchool MAS Program receives Distinguished Service Award from the Society of American Archivists

UBC iSchool’s Masters of Archival Studies Program was recently awarded the prestigious Distinguished Service Award from the Society of American Archivists.

The award recognizes an archival institution, education program, nonprofit organization, or government organization that has provided outstanding service to its public and has made an exemplary contribution to the archives profession. The MAS program was recognized for ongoing contributions to archival theory and the development of new archival practice and providing a model for others by going above and beyond the normal performance requirements expected of an archival agency.

Founded in 1936, the Society of American Archivists (SSA) is North America’s oldest and largest national professional association dedicated to the needs and interests of archives and archivists. SAA represents more than 6,200 professional archivists employed by governments, universities, businesses, libraries, and historical organizations nationally.
