Application fee waivers/coupons

Do you identify yourself as First Nations, Métis or Inuit? The School of Information is able to cover the application fee for applicants who self-identify as Indigenous on their applications (First Nations, Métis or Inuit).

Please email the program to request a unique coupon code that must be entered in advance of submitting the application in eVision. Eligible applicants who have paid the fee will not be issued a refund. Applicants who apply to multiple programs may receive a coupon from one program but not another.

Priority registration

Self-identified indigenous students pursuing their studies at the UBC School of Information will have priority registration during the registration window in March and June. In order to be eligible for priority registration, students are invited to self-identify through Workday Student.

Prioritization for entrance funding

Self-identified indigenous students are prioritized for Entrance Awards, which are assessed and assigned during the admission process. If successful, you will receive notification from the UBC School of Information at the time of receiving your admission offer.
