Purpose of the project:

PedPalASCNet (https://pediatricpalliative.com/) is a Pediatric Palliative Care Research Network, led by Dr. Harold Siden at BC Children’s Hospital. As part of their work with Knowledge Translation, PedPalASCNet maintains the Pediatric Palliative Care (PPC) Library (https://pedpalascnetlibrary.omeka.net/). The goal of the PPC Library is to collect pediatric palliative literature to increase its discoverability and accessibility. The purpose of this project is to redesign the PPC Library to increase its usability and better meet the collection goals. The Library Student will be supervised by two Librarians, Colleen Pawliuk and Edlyn Lim.

Summary of activities required to carry out the project:

The Library Student will:
Research and weigh other solutions to house the PPC Library
If a new solution is selected, the Student will lead the transfer of the contents of the PPC Library
If the decision is made to keep the PPC Library with Omeka, the Student will lead the project to improve the look and performance of the PPC Library
Create and implement an indexing system for the PPC Library
Create and improve documentation of the PPC Library update process
Participate in other tasks as needed by the research team and if of interest to the Library Student

Expectations of the end result of the project, for both host and student:

The Research Team expects an improved PPC Library, with robust documentation to ensure its continuation.
