UBC School of Information is gearing up for an exciting summer, with two conferences organized by UBC School of Information faculty and students.


June 22 to 26: The 54th Annual Conference of the Canadian Association for Information Science (CAIS 2026)

Featuring different presentations around the theme “Information in Repair,” this online conference is free and open for all to attend. The organizing committee comprises Dr. Julia Bullard, Dr. Cameron Pierson, and Melissa Nelson.

July 20 to 24: 2026 Archival Education and Research Institute (AERI)

AERI is an annual week-long working institute focused on strengthening archival education and research, and supporting cohort-building and mentoring for academics and students in archival studies. AERI 2026 will be hosted at UBC School of Information, and its organizers include Dr. Jennifer Douglas (Chair of AERI 2026), Dr. Elizabeth Shaffer, Dharani Persaud, Megan Cohen, Grace Phippard, and many iSchool student volunteers.
