 sional\, and adjunct faculty) are invited to an instructional workshop faci
 litated by the Anti-Racist Teaching and Learning Programming team. This wor
 kshop has been designed for instructors who are interested in joining conve
 rsations about anti-racism and looking for an entry point to their learning
  journey. This session introduces fundamental concepts such as power\, priv
 ilege\, and positionality\, as well as the systemic and ideological roots a
 nd presentations racialization\, racism\, and racial erasure in the classro
 om. The session seeks to supports participants as they integrate these fund
 amental concepts on anti-racism into their teaching and learning practices.

 ns about Musqueam into your classes? Are you looking for a place to get sta
 rted?</p><p>Please join us to learn about the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) - UBC
  Resource Curation Project\, a joint project between UBC and Musqueam. The 
 project aims to reduce the number of requests directed to Musqueam from UBC
 \, connect people with existing resources about Musqueam\, and share inform
 ation about the UBC-Musqueam relationship.</p><p>We are inviting you to joi
 n us for a 90 minute in-person session where you’ll learn about the project
  and other UBC/Musqueam initiatives that are in development\, participate i
 n a card-sorting activity which will help in the development of an informat
 ional resource for both the UBC and Musqueam communities and have time for

 cessible Arts and Popular Culture Workshop is generously funded by the <a h
 ref="https://pop-culture.arts.ubc.ca/pop-pedagogies/award/?login">Pop Pedag
 ogies Award</a>.</p><p>Accessible Arts and Popular Culture Workshop: Non-vi
 sual engagements with Ainu traditional crafts and Japanese popular culture\
 , a knowledge sharing and touch tour experience is a redesign of a special 
 teaching session for ASIA 590. The workshop has been redesigned for iSchool
  Community Learning Day\, an inaugural occasion where the iSchool will be c
 ancelling classes in favour of equity and inclusion focused events\, worksh
 ops\, and other engagements for students\, staff\, and faculty.</p><p>The w
 orkshop will include a panel of information professionals from the GLAM sec
 tor sharing their knowledge before an activity portion involving a touch to
 ur and tactile art room distributed at multiple learning stations. The work
 shop speaks to how the arts and popular culture can be taught as a form of 
 multi-sensory art appreciation\, non-visual and tactile experiences made po
 ssible by libraries and museums supporting accessible engagement opportunit
 ies\, with a focus on media from Japan and the idea of the universal museum
 .</p><p>At the end of the workshop\, attendees will leave with a stronger u
 nderstanding of how the arts and popular culture are not purely visual medi
 ums but rather multi-sensory\, eroding against cultural institutions that c
 ontinue to argue for a world where art is forbidden to be touched.</p><p><s

 tion\, a special exhibition held at the National Museum of Ethnology in Osa
 ka in 2021. This one-hour-long touch tour will include materials from UBC L
 ibrary's Rare Books and Special Collections\, Asian Library\, and Rahbar's 
 own collection — woodblocks used for map making\, e-maki picture scrools\, 
 anime figures\, attus fabric book marks\, nibutani-ita carved wooden trays\
 , and more. Attendees will explore the items through touch\, leaving behind
  the idea that art must always be locked behind a glass case. Students inte
 rested in archives\, special collections\, and accessibility in cultural in
 stitutions are especially encouraged to attend.</li></ul><p><strong>2:30pm

 rent version of the iSchool Accessibility Resource Guide\, a centralized di
 gital resource to be made available for iSchool students to assist in navig
 ating resources related to access and disability\, along with general resou
 rces and information specific to the iSchool\, UBC\, and Metro Vancouver ar
 ea. Most of the workshop will include active participation with different a
 venues of participation in the feedback and construction of the resource gu
