FNCC Student Focus Group: Reciprocity and the First Nations Curriculum Concentration

Current students on the FNCC are invited to participate in a focus group with other FNCC students to discuss reciprocity in the FNCC and opportunities for re-envisioning what the concentration could be like in the future.

A research team at the iSchool is conducting a study entitled Reciprocity and the First Nations Curriculum Concentration to support the ongoing development of the FNCC. They are conducting focus groups with FNCC students and alumni and interviews with UBC faculty and staff who have existing relationships with the FNCC. The purpose of this study is to learn from the ways participants conceptualize reciprocity in an academic context that is engaged in efforts towards decolonization/Indigenization. They aim to learn from your reflections on what the FNCC could be in the future in order to inform the changes they make today. Their work is supported by UBC’s Advancing Education Renewal grant.
